A Quality Environment (non-maintained settings) offers all Foundation Phase practitioners a wide range of exciting ideas and examples for developing indoor and outdoor environments, to provide practical play-based learning experiences for young children. It looks at creating a challenging learning environment and developing quality continuous provision.
There are 13 specific sections: The Book Corner, Mark Making Area, Maths Area, Construction, Small World, Role Play, Let’s Investigate, Sound and Music Area, Creative Area, Clay and Dough Area, Sand Area, Water Area and Outdoors.
Each section outlines how you can develop this area successfully within your setting, lists a choice of resources that should be made available and explains how you can make the area work in the outdoors. Advice is given on how each of the seven areas of learning can be incorporated and developed within each of the 13 areas.
