Planning Connected Learning aims to help headteachers and teachers to review and revise their school’s own curriculum to take advantage of the flexibility offered by the 2008 National Curriculum changes in Wales.
The material draws mainly on Key Stage 2 contexts and the Key Stage 2 curriculum, but in terms of guidance about the principles of curriculum planning, assessment and pedagogy, there are important messages for Key Stages 3 and 4 too.
The resource comes in two parts:
• a printed folder containing sections on the principles of connected learning, pedagogy,
assessment, planning and skills-ladders
• a CD that includes additional guidance material the 8 schools project audit; subject-specific guidance from ESIS advisers; worked examples of planning; a summary of National Curriculum subject skill and ranges; and an electronic version of skills-ladders for National Curriculum subjects.
