What did we do?
Implemented of a range of thinking skills in the early Foundation Phase.
What evidence have we collected to demonstrate improvements?
• Pupils' work
• Listening to Learners
• Observations
• Video evidence
What were the outcomes?
• Thinking skills are developed throughout the day
• Thinking skills are instigated and developed by all the staff in the unit
• Both staff and children are benefiting from working in this way
• We feel that the teaching of thinking skills encompasses the ethos of the Foundation Phase
What have we learnt about teaching practice and pupils learning?
• Implementing Thinking Skills at the early Foundation Phase means simplifying and combining the skills and strategies
• They work for me, my teaching style and my organisation within the early years setting
• They have made learning fun
• There is something to suit every child's learning
• It fits into the foundation phase
What we aim to do next
Continue to implement these strategies across the curriculum
