What did we do?
• Read the draft consultation document – Skills Framework WAG 2007/8
• 4 areas - Developing Communication, Developing Number, Developing ICT - similar to the existing Key Skills
• The new area - Developing Thinking

What evidence have we collected to demonstrate improvements?
• Pupils’ work
• Listening to Learners
• Clearer planning incorporating skills

What were the outcomes?
• Each teacher had ownership for their class
• Each co-ordinator had ownership for their subject
• The whole school was involved
• Staff could support each other – sharing ideas for application of skills

What have we learnt about teaching practice and pupils learning?
• Importance of clear and focused planning

What we aim to do next
• Link2learn
• I member of staff attending each module
• Reporting back during staff meetings
• Sharing materials
