The Better Schools Fund grant for 2010/2011 is now finalised. A summary of the main points are below. Local Authorities will be in contact with schools and consultancy groups in the very near future to decide how the grant will be spent.
· The grant has now been divided into 3 priorities:-
- Priority 1 - School Effectiveness
- Priority 2 - Implementing the Welsh Medium Education Strategy
- Priority 3 - Inclusion, Safeguarding and Promoting Wellbeing.
· A total cut of 33% across Wales on 09/10.
· 15% of the allocation must be spent on Priority Area 2.
Local authorities are required to delegate, as a minimum, 60% of the total allocation.
