Presentations >> Developing Language for Thinking in Science

Literacy is a key to effective learning in any subject and increasingly, teachers are expected to contribute to the dvelopment of literqacy skills in all subjects of the curriculum.

During the next ESTYN inspection cycle it is likely that judgements about the quality of teaching in science lessons will depend on how well pupils literacy skills are developed and exploited to aid learning.

ESIS has recently provided literacy-centred training for teachers of science in KS2 or KS3 but is still able to provide in-0school support for intersted departments

The attached PowerPoint will provide a flavour of the training that we have previously provided and of the support that departments might receive in schools/clustes.
