This area of the website contains information about CPD opportunities and school improvement activities and packages that reflect the three priorities of the Welsh Government. Each activity is designed to support schools in improving literacy, numeracy and in reducing the impact of poverty and disadvantage on educational attainment. ESIS teacher development and school improvement activities have a clear focus on providing strategies and approaches to addressing the priorities in order to improve outcomes for children and young people.
Each programme has been designed to be delivered flexibly – possibly as cluster or whole school events, Professional Learning Communities, a programme of learning visits with follow up activities or in any way that meets the needs of the school or cluster.
The programmes presented here can be adapted for use by individual schools. In some ways the programmes are intended to be a starting point to help schools develop improvement activities that can be supported by the School Effectiveness Grant and are likely to have an impact on standards in literacy and numeracy or help schools reduce the impact of poverty and disadvantage on attainment.
If you would like further information about any of the proposed programmes or would have an approach you would like to develop in your school please contact your cluster Continuing Professional Development Facilitator.
