Combating disadvantage

The Welsh Assembly Government is now placing a very high emphasis on 'closing the gap'. betweern the achievement of pupils facing significant social or educational disadvantage and those who do not. Effective leadership at all levels is likely to be a key to combatting disadvantage.
On 2nd November 2011,, Professor West Burnham will provide tarining at ESIS called 'Combating Disadvantage' which should help schools and clusters to help their pupils to close the performance gap.
Two of our LAs will select leaders from each cluster to work with Professor West Burnham. Leaders in schools in any LA might also wish to attend the conference and they would be most welcome,.
