Learning & Teaching >> Using Crocodile Clips in Primary Science Lessons

Crocodile Clips Elementary is a free download from NESTAs Planet-Science website.  This easy to use modelling package allows teachers and pupils to build 'virtual' circuits that work just like the real thing.

You could download the software onto individual PCs or laptops or onto a network.  Pupils might also enjoy downloading this onto their own computers so helping you to take learning out-of-school-hours.

The model allows you to use batteries, bulbs, buzzers and motors, all of which can be easily joined together with a simple movement of the mouse.

Switches and resistors can be used to control the circuit.

The PowerPoint Slideshow will provide some guidance about how to use the package, but it is simple to use, being intuitive and quite hard to break, so enjoy experimenting.

The PowerPoint also provides some simple ideas about things you might do with your pupils.
