Children are the future, wherever you live. In Wales many people, representing a range of organisations, are all working to enhance the life chances of pupils. You are probably one of these people, but where exactly do you fit into the grand plan?
The PowerPoint SlideShow attached to this webpage was produced as part of a Chartered Teacher Pilot provided in 2008 by ESIS and Swansea Metropolitan University. It is an interactive mindmap that identifies many of the people and organisations working with children and other learners within Wales. The links within the mindmap allow you to explore how your work relates to that of other colleagues and co-workers. It also provides you with information that might help you with your work.
The Chartered Teacher Pilot is a project run by GTCW, providing teachers in mid-career with opportunities for the excellence of their work to be recognised. They may gain a masters degree and may also become chartered teachers. The pilot is due to be completed at Easter 2010 and, hopefully, the full Chartered Teacher Scheme will become operational in September 2010 (portfolio route) or September 2011(accredited route). The MindMap was used to stimulate thinking and debate as an initial activity in a Chartered Teacher module on Teaching, Learning and Assessment. The course was offered at ESIS in the Autumn Term 2008.
