Working with ESIS

ESIS is a joint working arrangement between Bridgend, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Councils to provide education support to the schools and settings within these authorities.

Schools within the four authorities can choose to work with ESIS in two ways:

With a Support Agreement
Almost 95 per cent of schools within an ESIS authority choose to work with ESIS in the terms of a Support Agreement.

The agreement requires schools to commit to spend an annual sum with ESIS (two levels of entry are available dependent on the amount of services the school wishes to buy).

The sum includes the following:
• 33% discount on INSET training courses and priority booking service
• 10% discount on teaching materials
• 50% discount on consultancy charges
• Financial reports on a monthly basis detailing spend against the BSF
• Provision of teacher training records
• IT Purchasing Assistance
• Access to headteacher conferences
• Access to senior management seminars
• Access to CPD meetings to discuss priorities
• Access to limited areas of the website

Without a Support Agreement
Whilst it is advised that schools sign up to a Support Agreement with ESIS in order to benefit from additional services and lower costs, it is not compulsory. Schools can still work closely with ESIS, but will be unable to benefit from discounts.

In addition schools and agencies outside of the four councils can also work with ESIS.
